I would like to state similarities and differences between The Interview by Gopal Baratham and the movie, Empire of the Sun on setting element. Both stories were told happen during World War II and the socio economic characterization of the location almost the same which is full of hectic and chaos. The differences are the geographical location of the story. The Interview’s location setting was in Singapore while Empire of the Sun was in Beijing, China. The Interview did not clearly show specific building but only clear on interrogation room while Empire of the Sun showed a lot of building such as Jim Graham’s house and the All British camp.
