Che Husna Azhari wrote a short story titled Mariah. Polygamy is part of the main issue in this short story. A character, The Imam is a married man but he fell in love with Mariah. Mariah is a widower who sells Nasi Lemak and Nasi Belauk. The Imam wants to makes Mariah as his second wife. In Islam, if a married man wants to have second wife, he has to get his wife’s permission. This part have shown when The Imam ask his wife, Cik Yam to marry Mariah and she allowed him. Polygamy in Islam is a common thing.
